I have to disagree with you about them being miserable though, I think Cuddy and two kids would satisfy all Wilson's neediness cravings that he doesn't have covered at work and I think Wilson would satisfy Cuddy's desire for a "normal" home life.
Well, even if things would turn out that perfectly, I doubt that these two would be truly happy. The absence of misery isn't enough to be happy. I agree that they could live a perfectly normal life together, but imo something (or someone) would always be missing. They might even love each other, but they aren't in love, so in the long run I just don't see them truly happy together.
I also have my doubts about Wilson's ability to keep up his end of the deal. Yes, he has a certain need to be needed, but when it really counts he's more words than deeds. I could see him choosing to stay at work over dealing with two demanding kids more often over time. His patients are dying after all... I just don't see Wilson as reliable and perfect as he probably likes to see himself. This is the guy who is on anti-depressants, throws bottles through windows in anger and has a track record for cheating. Add all this to possible frustrations about dealing with two demanding kids, a miserable job and a wife who is pretty busy herself most of the time and maybe one day Wilson won't really resist another needy woman who wants to lean on him.
